Tip Calculator
Enter the bill, pick a tip and split it between friends. Tip is calculated on the pre-tax amount by default.
Quick tip math
For 10%, move the decimal one place left: $64.50 becomes $6.45. Double that for 20% ($12.90), or add half again for 15% ($9.68). For 18%, take 20% and subtract a tenth of it.
When splitting, add the tip to the bill before dividing so everyone pays the same share. If service charges or gratuity are already on the bill, you don't need to tip again unless you want to.

Questions
Should I tip on the pre-tax or post-tax amount?
Etiquette guides usually say pre-tax, but many people tip on the total. The difference is small: on a $60 bill with 8% tax, 20% is $12.00 pre-tax or $12.96 after tax.
How do I split a tip?
Add the tip to the bill and divide by the number of people. The calculator does this and can round each share up.
